Shooter Role

The shooter is the only hunter in a crazy shooting experience. On a twelve-player server that means you are looking for as many as eleven survivors on a small western station. This card is the lobby version of the job. The long version is how to win as the shooter. Rankings live on the role tier list.

If the HUD did not name you the shooter, this card will get you killed. Open survivor instead.

Job description

Eliminate everyone else before the round ends. You do that with a sweep, not with a montage. The station is a house: porch (lantern), rooms (timber interiors), yard (cactus and ditch), hill (mesa). Houses are cleared inside-out. Hills are last because people who go to the hill first lose the house.

You are allowed to take doors slowly. This is not a 30-player FFA. Pre-aim head height for R15. Reload in a doorway, never on the railroad sleepers.

Strengths

  • You choose the next unsafe landmark.
  • You can hold angles through ping spikes better than a peeking survivor.
  • Neon loadouts walk into your lantern cone for free.
  • Chat is a weapon. Survivors type locations. You do not have to.
  • There is no confirmed sheriff hunting you. Play 1vAll until a patch says otherwise (how to play).

Weaknesses

  • You have to find crouched people in interiors.
  • Glare from the lantern hides crouches if you peek from outside.
  • Tunneling one runner into cactus restocks the porch behind you.
  • High ping plus jump-peeks makes you swing into empty air. Controls.

Default opener

  1. Step under the porch so the lamp is behind your mental camera, not in your lens.
  2. Check posts and beam shadows.
  3. Full-clear the first timber building, including stairs.
  4. Only then slice the railroad from an offset, not from the vanishing point.
  5. Cactus glance. Mesa last.

That order is the reverse of the maps tier list and the search list implied by hiding spots.

Tells and anti-tells

You will hear wood. Wood means porch or interiors. Sand means they are already in F-tier land; do not follow a single set of sand footsteps if you have not cleared rooms.

If the kill feed prints two porch names, stay on the station core. If the feed is silent, you skipped a stair.

Do not announce “I’m coming mesa” unless you want interiors to refill.

Mistakes that drop you to D-tier

Mesa first. Reload on rails. Chat duels. Buying a fake gamepass. Pasting a silent-aim hub — scripts safety. Ignoring a building because “nobody ever hides there.” Everybody hides there. That is why it is S-tier geography.

After the round

If you wiped, write down the last landmark that had people. If you lost, you skipped S-tier cover. Queue again. Average visits last about nine minutes; you will get this card again soon. Codes will not force the role — codes. Practice, do not purchase a lie.

Keep a simple after-action note in your head: which landmark printed the last two names on the feed, and whether you skipped a stair. That single sentence is more useful than a highlight clip. If you keep losing to people who never peeked, they were sitting off-door in S-tier interiors — the same corners the hiding spots page names. Hunt those corners on purpose next time instead of chasing sand footsteps into cactus.

If the lobby is half empty, do not get sloppy. Fewer survivors means a faster sweep, not permission to skip buildings. A four-player 1vAll still hides in timber. Clear the house. Then read the opposite card so you stop missing the same stair: survivor.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How do I queue as shooter only?

You cannot. Keep playing. There is no published class select.

Should I start on the mesa for a sightline?

No. Mesa last. Sightlines from the rails are enough. See the sweep on how to win as the shooter.

Do I need a script to hit shots?

No. Hold doors, pre-aim head height, skip jump-peeks. Scripts safety.

What if survivors have guns too?

Only if a patch gave them pickups. Still hold interiors. Watch latest patch.
